About enfinium

enfinium is one of the UK’s leading energy from waste operators with four facilities operating across the country and a further two in construction, contributing over £240 million to the UK economy annually.

These four operational sites divert 2.3 million tonnes of non-recyclable waste from landfill, recovering 1.8 million megawatt hours of electricity from this waste, or enough to power 500,000 homes in the UK.

enfinium is targeting decarbonisation in the waste sector by developing five decarbonisation hubs at its facilities across the UK, diverting waste from landfill to generate homegrown energy and doing so in a way that helps to meet net zero targets.

As part of this decarbonisation journey, enfinium is planning to install carbon capture and storage technology at its two energy from waste facilities at Ferrybridge – Ferrybridge 1 and 2.
