Welcome to the Ferrybridge 1 and 2 carbon capture and storage project.

Once the CCS technology has been built and is operational at our two Ferrybridge facilities we will be able to capture at least 1.3 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) each year.

This second phase of consultation follows an initial consultation in 2024 and gives people a further chance to review, influence and provide comments on our project proposals. Specifically, we are now providing more information on potential ecology, air quality, climate change, noise and vibration, transport, historic environment, landscape and visual impact, population and health, drainage and ground condition impacts. We are also considering how we will assess and manage the potential impact of our proposals, including their impact alongside the other developments we know will be happening locally.

The proposals presented in this consultation do not represent our final application and this is an opportunity for the local community and others with an interest in the project to influence the application before it is submitted to the Planning Inspectorate.
