Ferrybridge 1 & 2
Operational since 2015, Ferrybridge 1 processes up to 725,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste each year – producing enough energy to meet the needs of up to 170,000 UK homes.
Four years later Ferrybridge 2 began producing energy from waste on the same site – also matching its sister plant in its processing and power outputs.
Combined, the two energy from waste facilities at Ferrybridge process up to 1,450,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste each year to generate power for up to 340,000 UK homes.
